Hi, I’m Josie Tan, a professional photographer with 18 years of experience behind the camera. I started in 2006 in Los Angeles, working with fashion brands and editorial clients—where I learned to bring a polished, magazine-worthy look to every image.
After moving to Oregon, I followed my heart into baby, maternity, and family photography. My goal is to create timeless, high-end portraits that celebrate the beauty of real life.
In addition to photographing amazing families, I mentor fellow photographers, teach through online education, speak at workshops, and serve as a photography competition judge.

As a motherhood and newborn photographer, my path has been deeply shaped by personal experience.
In my late 20s, I underwent chemotherapy and radiation after receiving life-changing news from my oncologist: “There’s an 80% chance you won’t carry again.” That moment changed everything.
While my journey through cancer meant I could no longer have children, it also gave me an entirely new perspective. Today, I pour my heart into documenting the milestones I once hoped to experience myself. Every maternity session, newborn photo, and family portrait is an opportunity to celebrate life and connection.
