Here I am at home having some afternoon snack when I noticed my overly grown belly. I’m wondering what It takes to get this baby out to this world already! No, its not past my due date yet but just two weeks away, it has to be any time by now.
So, in case I do jump into labor, I decided to record this moment of myself when I was 15 pounds heavier with my first child.

Of course, I wanted a classic photo but just one problem; there is no one to take the picture! So, I set my camera up on a box high enough to reach upper body length and put it on auto. The window behind me makes a soft light contrasting to the surrounding shadows. I’am satisfy with these photos but it had potential to be better.

I have time to arrange our baby girl’s nursery since I am on my leave. I pictured in my head something modern but a bit cottage. Something lavender but not too girly. Bright, and innocent.
then the result…

-lavender stripe wallpaper
-corner ledges
-plain white wainscott
-neutral tone carpet
-crib, drawer, changing station
As you can see, there is no bedding or essentials in this photo. We are room sharing and so that’s not set up yet
This light my husband added later on gives
a great pink glow on a dull, rainy day!
Don’t you just loveee baby booties! They are the cutest lil’ things that makes us all smile

I am back tracking from previous events because I didn’t have a blog then! Here are photos from the end of my pregnancy until the beginning of a new life. All which happened in 5 days.
So this is my story………

Huntington Memorial Hospital Entrance

Main Lobby

Outdoor Cafeteria
6:30am- Enrolled to be induced
8:45pm- Beginning of contractions
12am(next day) – Max out on potocin and Dr broke my bag
2am- Getting prep for a c-section after all
4am- Arrival of Reiya
What excitement and joy! We’re finally meeting face to face after 10 long months!

Hallelujah! only took 22 hours and we have a healthy 7lb 6 oz, 19.5″ baby girl (photos taken by daddy)

First 5 minutes of her life on the heating table. Of course, I was unable to see these photos until later because I was still being stitched back up.

I was so surprised about this photo! She has her hands clasp as if she is praying!

Because of my induction, I had time to make sure to grab my camera with me to preserve these days that will never happen again. Although it is a blur to me now, I have these photos to remind me just how precious this experience was!

Tiny feet that fit into my hands (yes a bit dry too)

She has a head full of hair already!

I wanted to get her umbilical cord too!

We’ve been sleep deprived and beyond exhausted at this point. There is no easy way to know your baby but to spend lots of time together.

Okay, no more fooling around. I have to stay focus on my goal and practice, practice, practice!
I went out and purchased a frame which holds four 4×6 photos together from Target and fill it with a series(hung on nursery wall). The 22″ beauty dish I ordered hasn’t been put to use yet, and I’m dying to see what I can do with it!

This was pretty difficult considering it was taken on the couch, lack of experience using a beauty dish and so different than what I am used to shooting. My one obstacle is having to be more artistic and story telling oppose to taking literal portraiture.

Its frustrating at times when I got stuck, but I’am satisfied with these and it sets the mood I was looking for

My photo series from yesterday really motivated me to do another one, a better one! Today is her first day of 1 month. Lets start the day off with some happy photos I thought.

I love the artistic aspect of these. What do you think?

Again, motivated and cant wait to see results. I am hooked on the challenge of improving each time!

Discovering my living room windows and experimenting with different point of views. I laid her on a chaise which gave me the perfect height.

My, has our lil girl grown in such little time. She is so expressive and already beginning to develop character!
It was one of those cloudy sundays, so I wanted to take advantage of the light before it gets dark. Then I begged and begged daddy to help instead of taking his much needed rest, and he finally agreed and make these photos possible..

These were taken in her room. I wanted a “floating” effect and so I put her in a feeding pillow standing on top of a box. Definitely dangerous if not attentive!

Our dog Bear(shepherd mix) has been fairly good with accepting Reiya to this family. It makes me sad that we don’t have as much time for her as we used to. But I hope soon enough that they will be able to play together and keep each other company!

6 weeks old
